The New York Times had an interesting article on the mess that’s left in parks on Monday mornings after the public enjoys them during weekends.  There are those who are not at all upset by the mess. Who are they? Pests.

As the old expression goes: one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.  Rodents, insects, and nuisance birds all see the public’s garbage as sources of food and other resources for their homes.  Once these animals get settled in an area they can become a significant public nuisance.  See our past posts on how rats have taken over NYC parks.   Be careful and please throw out your trash.
