We’re warning again: students in colleges have a high probability of encountering bed bug issues.
There have been three publicized incidents this school year.
- The University of Nebraska has bed bugs again, after having a giant issue last year that made national news.
- New Jersey’s Willam Paterson University noted its bed bug issues this week.
- And reports just came about about bed bug issues at the University of Maryland.
Bell Environmental solves issues at many schools and universities and helps administrators develop bed bug detection, treatment, and prevention programs. Students and faculty need to be eternally vigilant against this problem. Schools should have detailed protocols to detect problems in their early stages, and resolve issues with safe, thorough, and effective methods once bed bugs are discovered. They should also continually educate their campuses about bed bug and have periodic canine inspections of highly trafficked and suspect areas to prevent much larger issues.
